One year ago, November 22, 2019, we moved to Spring Hill, Tennessee.  It was an exciting yet exhausting day. The brown corrugated boxes coming off the moving truck seemed to never end. I vividly remember moving day. By dinner time we were ravenous, but we couldn’t find the pots and pans box, nor did we have the energy to cook. So, our first Spring Hill supper was the most amazing pulled pork and beef brisket from Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint. Wow! For several days after, we ate on paper plates until we finally found the box of dishes.

This month, November 2020, Allen and I celebrate our first anniversary in Spring Hill and oh how we love it.

What’s not to love? The camaraderie in this city is like something I have never experienced.  Today is Election Day, and a woman on a local Facebook group posted this, “Are you in Spring Hill and want to vote but can’t get there? I’d love to drive you if you need help. I don’t care who you vote for and don’t want to discuss it, but if you need a ride, say the word.”  Amazing!

Earlier this month I posted on our Brixworth subdivision’s Facebook page that I had a goal to fill 10 Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes and asked if others wanted to help. Within hours, 24 neighbors volunteered to shop for, pack and donate gift-filled boxes. I’m overwhelmed by this compassion from our neighbors, some of whom I have not yet met. If this is the type of neighborly spirit that you find attractive, John Mayer Builders is building beautiful homes in Brixworth right now.

So, what attracted us to Spring Hill, TN, all the way from the other side of the country?  For us, we loved that this city is God-centered, patriotic, and community-minded. It’s Americana at its finest.

If you are considering Spring Hill as your new home town, start with reaching out to one of these helpful real estate businesses. They are all members of the Spring Hill Chamber, which means they are committed to the success of our town. And here’s a list of great places to stay while you are exploring Spring Hill. We stayed at one of the hotels on this list during our January 2019 visit to finalize interior selections for our Brixworth home. It was a cold winter week, and I was buttoned up from head to toe. But the warmth we experienced from everyone in Spring Hill is the same today as it was when we were in the planning stages of our big move.
